There's one occupied apartment on this level. These lower floors are occupied mostly by working families or seniors getting by on social security checks and meager savings. This one's no different. Young single mother and daughter, only recently moved in.
You knock on the door.
"Oh, you comin' to see us now? I got the rent check in on time. Talk? About what? Huh, the incident. Well, let's talk about it. Oh, not with me? With Jayla. Well, she in her room in back."
